Interpretive knowledge is required to provide sufficient monitoring diligence to
recording parameters and the clinical events observed during sleep.
Technologists provide supportive services related to the ongoing treatment of
sleep related problems. The professional realm of this support includes guidance
on the use of devices for the treatment of breathing problems during sleep and
helping individuals develop sleeping habits that promote good sleep hygiene.

General Information
All academic courses are offered online utilizing WEBSTUDY® which allows students
to access courses anytime, anywhere, from any computer with internet access.

Applications
must be completed and submitted to IHS along with a copy of high school and/or
college transcripts.
Once your
application is complete, each applicant will need to discuss the content of
their application with an IHS faculty member.
In addition
applicants should possess:
• Strong interest in science
• Willingness to work flexible hours (specifically nights)
• High degree of professionalism
Clinical
Practicum Requirements:
• CPR certification
• Approved clinical site where students can work a
minimum of 16 hours week
under the direction of a registered Polysomnographic technologist.
• Physical exam
• Criminal Background Check

minimum 70% in all areas in order to successfully complete the program. Upon
successful completion of the program students will receive a certificate.
